Genesis Machines

by Martyn Amos, Genesis Machines Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Genesis Machines books, The next generation of computers are coming – and they're like nothing we've seen before. Scientists are turning away from silicon chips and instead are using living systems to build machines that could change the world forever. Cells, gels and DNA strands are the 'wetware' of the twenty-first century. Imagine taking cells from a cancer patient and programming them to be able to detect disease and then prompt the body to cure itself. Or clothes woven with microchips, where nanofibres and living cells combine to form wearable bio-weapons detection systems. Both revolutionary applications are closer than we think. Some scientists are pushing the boundaries even further by creating synthetic biology: the ultimage scrap-heap challenge, where brand new creatures are engineered in the laboratory.

New York City , the near future: John Smith is a simple, 46-year-old artist who is lives a semi-reclusive existence in NYC. Stricken with cancer, Smiths undergoes a dramatic change when he falls prey to a covert, cutting-edge government project. Now, with his body suddenly cancer-free but his mind in chaos, John Smith sets out to find the answers to the questions about his new life. But when he falls in love with a beautiful young woman, his search for the truth takes an unusual twist. Suddenly willing to accept things as they are, Smith tries to put his past behind him and live a simple and normal existence. On his trail, however, is an evil, sadistic U.S. government whose sights are set on global domination, and those plans require the involvement of Smith as well as his new found extraordinary abilities. The greatest sci-fi novels in existence are actually blunt social commentaries in sleek clothing, and W.L. Smiths debut novel is no different. In a stunning debut offering, W.L. Smith pens a tale that mirrors the qualities of the greatest sci-fi novels in existence: an intricate storyline laden with compelling characters, brisk momentum, and a scathing commentary on human society. A powerful fable about human societys dark future, and the essence of human life, MACHINE MAN: GENESIS, is one explosive, thought-provoking thriller; one that could soon find its way to the movie theaters in the near future. As he and his graduate-student laboratory work on various approaches to the creation of new life using computers he and they (mostly him) discover a highly dynamic field of those wishing to take advantage of his successes for illegitimate purposes and those wishing to put him out of business for religious and philosophical reasons. As he gains more widespread notoriety reactions become more dangerous and deadly chasing him to Canada, New York City, and the North Atlantic and from traditional computers to analog and quantum varieties. As time progresses we learn how life may have been created on Earth as well as many alternate versions of the genesis of life via mathematics, accidents, biochemistry, and biodiversity. by James P. Hogan, Genesis Machine Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Genesis Machine books, Brad Clifford's theory was just applied mathematics -- but its implications were too hot for the frozen minds of his superiors. Suddenly, all weapons seemed useless before the previously unimagined power of the Genesis Machine. It could wreck a world or save it -- and the men who ruled that world on a path of disaster now fought to gain control of this new force. But Clifford and Philipsz had another goal, another dream. They were reaching for the stars! "In the grand tradition of the classic super-science stories, but with more exciting science and with better writing, too. Reprogramming Japan

by Marie Anchordoguy, Reprogramming Japan Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Reprogramming Japan books, How have state policies influenced the development of Japan's telecommunications, computer hardware, computer software, and semiconductor industries and their stagnation since the 1990s? Marie Anchordoguy's book examines how the performance of these industries and the economy as a whole are affected by the socially embedded nature of Japan's capitalist system, which she calls "communitarian capitalism." Reprogramming Japan shows how the institutions and policies that emerged during and after World War II to maintain communitarian norms, such as the lifetime employment system, seniority-based wages, enterprise unions, a centralized credit-based financial system, industrial groups, the main bank corporate governance system, and industrial policies, helped promote high tech industries. When conditions shifted in the 1980s and 1990s, these institutions and policies did not suit the new environment, in which technological change was rapid and unpredictable and foreign products could no longer be legally reverse-engineered. Despite economic stagnation, leaders were slow to change because of deep social commitments. Once the crisis became acute, the bureaucracy and corporate leaders started to contest and modify key institutions and practices. Rather than change at different times according to their specific economic interests, Japanese firms and the state have made similar slow, incremental changes.
