by Torleiv Høien, Dyslexia From Theory To Intervention Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. This book, by two of Europe's leading experts, gathers together a vast amount of recent international research on the causes and remediation of dyslexia, and presents a cognitive model of the normal reading process and a process-analytic diagnostic model. Much of this material appears in English for the first time.

Cognitive Strategy Research

by M. Pressley, Cognitive Strategy Research Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Cognitive Strategy Research books, For some time now, the study of cognitive development has been far and away the most active discipline within developmental psychology. Although there would be much disagreement as to the exact proportion of papers published in develop mental journals that could be considered cognitive, 50% seems like a conservative estimate. Hence, a series of scholarly books devoted to work in cognitive devel opment is especially appropriate at this time. The Springer Series in Cognitive Development contains two basic types of books, namely, edited collections of original chapters by several authors, and original volumes written by one author or a small group of authors. The flagship for the Springer Series is a serial publication of the "advances" type, carrying the subtitle Progress in Cognitive Development Research. Each volume in the Progress sequence is strongly thematic, in that it is limited to some well-defined domain of cognitive developmental research (e.g., logical and mathematical development, development of learning). All Progress volumes will be edited collections. Editors of such collections, upon consultation with the Series Editor, may elect to have their books published either as contributions to the Progress sequence or as separate volumes. All books written by one author or a small group of authors are being published as separate volumes within the series.

Evidence Based Practices In Deaf Education

by Harry Knoors, Evidence Based Practices In Deaf Education Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Evidence Based Practices In Deaf Education books, This volume presents the latest research from internationally recognized researchers and practitioners on language, literacy and numeracy, cognition, and social and emotional development of deaf learners. In their contributions, authors sketch the backgrounds and contexts of their research, take interdisciplinary perspectives in merging their own research results with outcomes of relevant research of others, and examine the consequences and future directions for teachers and teaching. Focusing on the topic of transforming state-of-the-art research into teaching practices in deaf education, the volume addresses how we can improve outcomes of deaf education through professional development of teachers, the construction and implementation of evidence-based teaching practices, and consideration of "the whole child," thus emphasizing the importance of integrative, interdisciplinary approaches.
